Harper McDermott hosted an annual Macmillan coffee morning to support with their cancer care services.
We are happy to announce that we raised £570 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Cancer Support
There are more than 3 million people living with cancer in the UK. By 2030, this figure is expected to rise to 4 million.
Macmillan is the UK’s leading cancer care charity; working to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can. Understanding the many ways in which cancer can affect a person’s life, Macmillan provides physical, financial and emotional support.
Through the money raised, Macmillan supports vital cancer services and research as well as campaigning to achieve better cancer care and working to support the cancer workforce.
In their latest report, the charity shared their achievements from 2023:
- Macmillan services reached and supported an estimated 2.3 million people affected by cancer.
- Macmillan nurses, support workers and palliative care nurses reached approximately 730,000 people living with cancer.
- The charity helped to identify millions in benefits through the advice provided by the Macmillan Support Line and £310 million through their local Welfare Rights Services.
- Macmillan supporters and fundraisers raised £226.8 million.
So far this year, Macmillan has raised a total of £2,183,500.
We are extremely proud to support Macmillan in reaching more people affected by cancer in the coming year. The charity is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so the team at Harper McDermott hope that our donation will be a valuable contribution in helping the charity continue their amazing work.

Financial Support
Both Macmillan Cancer Support and Harper McDermott understand that a cancer diagnosis can impact a person’s financial situation as well as those who depend on them financially.
Millions of people living with cancer rely on Macmillan and external financial support to help with paying bills and the costs that going through treatment can bring.
Impacts on health can lead anyone into financial difficulty and is one of the more typical reasons why our customers find themselves with unaffordable debt.
At Harper McDermott, we help people dealing with problem debt to find a solution for their debt, regardless of the reason that they find themselves in need of our advice.
